Pro-Life Rally

Dear Brother Knights and Pro-Life Friends,

I'm writing today to ask you to help me defend the lives of unborn babies in America's heartland: our home state of Iowa. On Thursday, May 20, Planned Parenthood is holding a big 30th anniversary celebration in Cedar Rapids, featuring none other than their national CEO, Ms. Cecile Richards. It's no wonder that Richards is eager to visit Iowa. Planned Parenthood is desperate to legitimize their abortion business. They want to make abortion as American as apple pie. I'm not going to let that happen. I know you aren't, either. Next Thursday, pro-lifers like you from all across Iowa -- and even nearby states like Illinois -- are gathering for a huge pro-life rally and protest of Cecile Richards' abortion gala. I hope you can be there.

I'll describe the protest plans in detail below, but here's the plan for the day in a nutshell:

4:00 p.m. Baby shower drop-off begins St Pius X Church Parking Lot 4949 Council Street NE

4:30 p.m. Rally and press conference St Pius X Church Parking Lot

5:00 p.m. Protest Cecile Richards Cedar Rapids Marriott 1200 Collins Road NE

Planned Parenthood is pushing abortion on the poor women of Iowa, so we want to do what we can to help them reject abortion and choose life. That's why we're kicking off with a "baby shower," collecting baby goods for Cedar Rapids pregnancy centers. Abortion is nothing to celebrate, but the generosity of pro-lifers IS! At 4:30, we'll hold a press conference to share a simple message with the media: "Abortion is nothing to celebrate!" Then at 5 p.m., we'll move one block east to the Cedar Rapids Marriot, where Planned Parenthood is holding their abortion gala. Protest signs will be provided. We'll show our fellow Iowans what Planned Parenthood really all about: ABORTION. Please come to this important pro-life protest if you can -- and tell all of your friends and family about it (you can feel free to forward my message). You and I are locked in an epic struggle with Planned Parenthood for the soul of this nation. Our home state of Iowa is the latest battlefield, and I'm grateful for your help.
